Version 0.17 Release Notes
Servers
- Fixed an issue with connecting to servers that was leading to a client crash
- The menu between running locally and joining a server is now more clear. I have plans to make this even more clear in the near future.
- Updated the server readme to be a bit more clear. you must port-forward in order to host a server
Localization
- Added a bunch of new lines to the base localization file
- Added gendered nouns for Jobs, as some languages don’t have neuter names for them
- Card text is now localized
Mechanics
- Changed movement to a velocity based system, resulting in smoother movement and allowing smaller steps
- Added an in-world interaction widget which is used to determine where to drop items
- Added a cooldown timer to the Town Patrol and Landlord cards
- Vessels can now accept ingredients any time before they are cooked, instead of only at room temperature
- Pressing Escape will now close any open menus, and open the menu if no other menus are open
- Dragging a prop with 2 hands is now faster than dragging it with one
- Base drag speed has been lowered
- All containers now require 2 hands to pull
- Props that only require 1 hand to pull will now move away from players when walked into
- Items can now be swapped between empty hands
- Clicking on chairs now properly calculates the landing point
- Fixed a number of issues related to dragging
- Fires now properly reset after a round
- Fixed an issue where puddles weren’t rendering when putting out fires
- Fixed an issue where fire sparks (known in the code as “Desk Pops”) could land in invalid locations, leading to fires that could not be properly put out before they were out of control
- Fixed an issue where props on fire could never be put out, making firefighting impossible
- Fixed an issue where fires wouldn’t render correctly after a round reset
- Fixed an issue where players could relive themselves in rapid succession if certain conditions were met
- Fixed an issue where distance checks were invalid
- Fixed an issue where projectiles would sometimes destroy themselves instead of sticking to something
- Fixed an issue where items were not properly being dereferenced when they were no longer stuck to the tip of a tool
Audio / Visual
- Added a custom cursor for the game
- Added contextual awareness to the radial menus, so they hint better at what can be done
- Cleaned up the text with radial menus, making interaction options much clearer
- Scrap Metal no longer looks like a phallus
- The deck now recenters itself after being dealt
- Fixed an issue where the radial menu would remain open during card dealing
- Fixed an issue where status effect moodlets would not be removed at the end of a round, even though the effect itself was
- Fixed an issue where the ui cookie would disappear if certain conditions were met
- Fixed an issue where particle effects could be stacked permanently on vessels
- Fixed an issue where vessels were not updating their appearance correctly when liquids were transferred between them
The Town
- Added some log racks in the homes and gave them all a couple of logs to start the round with
